Will Mercer is a 2020 SS/RHP with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Charleston, SC who attends West Ashley HS. A bit smaller of a frame with room on the build to add physicality. Recorded a 5.27 40-yard dash. Primary shortstop and showed a full arm action through the back on throws. Fields the ball cleanly out in front and showed good actions at times, specifically to the backhand, and has arm strength that is developing. Short and compact arm action on the mound and threw from a three-quarter arm slot. Lands online and the fastball creates occasional plane and has short cutting action as well. Mixed in a changeup as a secondary pitch and filled the strike zone. Stands slightly open at the plate with a quick leg lift trigger as a timing mechanism. Showed the ability to hit the ball into the air. Excellent student.
