Austin Shields is a 2025 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Sarasota, FL who attends Cardinal Mooney. Medium frame with long limbs, wiry strength and time to add overall physicality. Ran the 60-yard dash in 7.73 seconds. Primary position infielder, with solid footwork and first step quickness. Lets ball get to him, presents the glove softly out front and secures the ball. Quick midline transfer to 3/4 slot to throw, showing quick arm and accurate throws up to 76 mph across the diamond. Solid overall fundamentals. Right handed hitter, working from an even base and lift and replace leg lift trigger. Compact path with flat line drive type stroke. Repeating well and staying on the barrel with his gap to gap approach. As strength grows power will start to play much more but the hitters foundation is present. Very good student as well.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
