Shane McLaughlin is a 2022 OF/RHP with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from St Augustine, FL who attends Bartram Trail. Long and lean frame with good physical projection. Ran a 7.35 second 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, gets around the ball well and comes through it with good intent funneling it cleanly off his front foot; transfers to a long and loose arm action that shows good arm strength on accurate throws to bags. Also pitched, has a compact delivery with a good mound presence; fastball has some cut to it at the plate and shows feel for a pair of breaking balls in a 12-to-6 curveball and a sweeping slider. Left-handed hitter, sets up slightly open with high hands and a high back elbow; swing has length through the zone but shows quickness in his hands with looseness and a feel for the barrel that projects well. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
