Josh McGonigle is a 2021 SS/2B, 3B, RHP with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Ladera Ranch, CA who attends San Juan Hills. Ran a 7.57 second sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with an athletic frame. Moves well to and through the ball, showing off impressive range. Quick and efficient feet. Short arm action and a strong, accurate arm up to 79 miles per hour across the diamond. Switch hitter. Slightly crouched and even stance from the right side with a simple leg lift trigger and rotational lower half. Stays balanced throughout with a clean hand path to contact. Middle of the field approach, controlling the barrel well and squaring up a lot of balls. Stance is a little more open from the left side of the plate. High back elbow and line drive barrel plane. Currently a better tool from the left side. Secondary pitcher with loose arm action and good arm speed from a three-quarters slot. Good balance, landing on-line and getting good extension over front side. Attacks hitters with a fastball at 80-to-82 miles per hour, flashing a curveball with tight spin and 11-to-5 shape, as well as a changeup at 78 miles per hour. Shows projectable pitchability.
