Jacob Martinez is a 2022 SS/2B, 3B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Corpus Christi, TX who attends Veterans Memorial. Recorded a 7.14 second sixty-yard dash time. Athletic frame with some present quick twitch and room to add more strength. Primary infielder with smooth, fluid actions into and through the fielding process, showing the ability to range laterally well to either side and work downhill through the baseball. Incorporates athleticism and well-engaged lower half to stay low, funneling well out in front and displaying clean, quick transfers. Showed ability to throw from multiple angles, while recording arm strength up to 83 mph across the diamond with accuracy and carry. Right-handed hitter that hits from an even based stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and small hover trigger. Incorporates simple swing mechanics with smooth loading mechanism to produce line drive impact to the middle-of-the field often. Repeatable movements with good length through the zone and advanced bat-to-ball skills and feel for the barrel. Solid overall tools with upside on both sides of the ball. Will continue to improve as he physically matures. Good Student.
