Marcus Cantu is a 2026 SS/MIF with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Friendswood, TX who attends Lutheran South Academy. Features a medium-sized build with noticeable lean athleticism. At SS, his athleticism showed. Adv. actions where he plays low to the ground with light feet that give him range both ways. Solid glovework where the hands play though and show softness at reception. Quick funnel and transfer. Arm has quality strength across showing accuracy from different slots/angles. At the plate, sits in a medium base and uses a bigger leg lift trigger that initiates early and works in rhythm. Bat path is more down-and-through but inconsistent timing during his round had him flaring several foul balls. There's some hand/bat speed present but just didn't translate to impact because of timing/contact-points. Named to Top Prospects List.
