Nathan Steinfeld is a 2021 MIF/OF with a 5-8 125 lb. frame from New York, NY who attends NYC Lab HS-Collaborative Studies. Young, square shouldered build with a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.95 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front with some bend at waist, showed quick footwork moving up the middle with control throwing across body, quick transfer, arm strength will continue to develop on throws across. Moves well to he ball in the outfield, field out front and funnels into a full arm stroke through the back, can continue to implement additional lower half into release, around the intended base with throws showing accuracy. Also pitched, worked exclusively out of the stretch; full arm action through the back working to a high three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 69 mph, flashed some sink when down in the zone and pitched to contact. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and a high hand set and low back elbow at the plate. Upper body dominant swing, loads hands back at start and utilizes a tote tap trigger for timing. Contact oriented approach, best contact when working with linear swing path, front side occasionally opens early in swing. Very good student.
