Jack Matty is a 2021 OF/RHP with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from Alpharetta, GA who attends Alpharetta HS. Small build, skinny and young frame with plenty of growing still to do and time to do so. Ran a 7.75 second 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, short steps to the ball, full arm action into throws, high release point causing ball to sail at times, could release more out front for more carry and accuracy to the bag, average arm strength topping out at 74 mph from the outfield. Also pitched, showed tempo through delivery, drop and drive actions, gets decent tilt with front shoulder, long arm action up to a high 3/4 arm slot, gets downward action on fastball, located well with both fastball and curveball, curveball showed 11-to-5 shape with depth and good bite, threw lots of strikes filling up the zone and velocity will only increase with growth. Righthanded hitter, even stance with a high hand set and high back elbow, weight sits on back leg striding in line, could utilize the lower half more into swing, longer hand path to the ball, average bat speed with some feel for the barrel and more to come, could get the barrel out in front for more consistent contact, line drive opposite field approach.
