Ashton Larson is a 2023 OF/1B with a 6-1 193 lb. frame from Overland Park, KS who attends St. Thomas Aquinas. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present physical strength proportioned nicely throughout. Runs well, posted a 6.74 60-yard dahs. Primary outfielder, athleticism plays on the approach with twitch in actions, bounce to step, fields out front and works into a shorter arm action with a quick release, tools to play center field, ball comes out cleanly from a higher slot. Left-handed hitter, begins with a balance stance in the box with a narrow base; subtle hand load at start of swing and remain quiet throughout. Very direct path to the ball with standout bat speed through the zone, hands work nicely. Short swing path with lift out front, occasionally gets too uphill, come working to the pull side with extension out front. Excellent student. Verbal commitment to Louisiana State.
