Nikolas Ballestero is a 2021 RHP/OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Staten Island, NY who attends New Dorp. Medium frame with slender, athletic build; ran 40 yard dash in 5.20 seconds. Primary righthanded pitcher, simple rocker step to balance point, low hand break, compact arm stroke, fastball worked 74-78 mph with good arm side run, shorter vertical slider with 11/5 shape and solid bite, flashed a changeup as well, good control. Hits from spread and even stance, inside-out hand path on linear plane, keeps knob locked to body through swing, has bat speed, middle-field approach. Worked out in the outfield, comes in on the ball, stiffness to actions, gates hip into stride through release, clocked up to 78 mph on throws. Good student.
