Matthew Peak is a 2020 OF/3B with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Auburn, AL who attends Lee Scott Academy. Recorded a 6.78 second 60-yard dash time. Large, athletic frame with plenty of quick-twitch muscle and present speed. Primary outfielder with sure, graceful steps to the baseball. Higher arm slot with a loose arm stroke. Gets around throws with good footwork and can improve arm strength by getting on top of the ball. Lefthanded hitter with a full, loose swing path. Shifts weight onto his front side nicely and the ball jumps off the barrel when squared. Swing plays nicely as the hands work well into the swing. Creates leverage to pull the ball with present home run juice. Drives the ball off his backside well with an open stance. Combination of barrel skills and athleticism are intriguing. Good student. Named to the 2018 Southeast Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
