Trevor Back is a 2018 LHP/OF with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from Jamul, CA who attends Steele Canyon. Medium frame with a lean build. Projects for additional strength. Primary left handed pitcher who worked exclusively out of the stretch. Utilized a balanced delivery with compact arm stroke at take back. Creates solid downhill plane through the zone while released from a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball flashed slight arm side life in the low to upper 70's, topped at 78 miles per hour. Curveball showed loose spin with occasional depth when staying on top of offering. Consistently challenge the strike zone while changing speeds. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth, easy actions while moving to and through the baseball. Clean glove actions and pick up and generated accurate throws to the bag at 80 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with loose, level line drive barrel plane. Looks to generate bat speed with hip action while employing a mid field to pull side approach. Good student as well.
