Matt Corder is a 2019 SS/2B/OF with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Madison, MS who attends Germantown HS. Slender young build, lots of room to get stronger. 6.97 runner, speed plays up in the game, gets out of the box quickly and is aggressive on the base path, live bodied athlete. Right handed hitter, has a short and direct swing from a high hand set, quick hands and gets the barrel into the zone, handles the barrel well and is a high contact hitter, line drive swing and will move it all around the field. Plays both infield and outfield well, has quickness in his actions and gets of the ball well with good balance, smooth in the infield working through the ball. Also pitched, simple and compact delivery with few variables, athletic on line delivery, outstanding overall mechanics. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, shows good arm speed and release on both his curveball and change up, fills up the zone with all three pitches and challenges hitters. Has a chance on the mound as well as a position player. Key to development will be getting stronger, tools and skills are already evident. Good student.
