Walton Lanier is a 2020 2B/RHP, SS with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Lagrange, GA who attends Lagrange. Small frame with strength present especially in his lower half. Ran a 6.95 second 60 yard dash. Primary second baseman, worked out in the infield with range especially up the middle, accurate throws and carry, varies arm slots with accuracy, topped out at 82 mph across the diamond. Secondary righthanded pitcher, fastball tops out at 83 mph and lives in the low-80s, mixes in a curveball with 11-5 shape. Righthanded hitter, sets up at the plate with a balanced and open stance, bat waggle at load with dip to his hands into contact, short stride into contact to generate some bat speed, simple cut with low effort and a gap to gap approach, showed the ability to lift the baseball as well. Outstanding student. Named to 2019 Fall Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.
