Sonny Licon is a 2022 RHP/1B, 3B with a 5-5 170 lb. frame from El Paso, TX who attends Americas. Stocky build with present strength. Ran a 8.40 second sixty-yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher. Employs a small side step to belt high leg lift staying slightly flexed at gather going to drop and drive mechanics down the mound landing online with the plate and falling off to the first base side slightly at finish. Uses a long loose arm action throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot with good arm speed. Displayed a fastball with heavy life through the zone and developing control up to 76 miles per hour complemented with a 11/5 curveball with good depth and control at 60 miles per hour. Also worked out at first base. Displayed out front fielding actions with confident footwork working to and through the ball. Showed confident glove actions on the backhand and forehand sides. Flashed good arm strength with accurate carry to the bases topping out at 72 miles per hour from first base. Right handed hitter. Employs a slightly open upright stance with a high hand and back elbow set up to go along with a leg lift trigger. Displayed a fluid swing with a elevated plane creating consistently driven fly balls and line drives. Showed the ability to drive the ball to the opposite field with a loud double off the right field fence during games.
