Peyton Rossi is a 2019 1B/RHP/3B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Meridian, ID who attends Bishop Kelly HS. Large frame with broad shoulders and present strength. Primary first baseman with clean, quick footwork while centering the baseball and pivoting. Funnels the baseball out front and worked through exchange with fluidity. Released from a high three-quarters arm slot generating accurate carry across the infield at 76 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with a spread, crouched stance and simple leg lift triggers. Stays on back sight throughout and works to contact with rotational actions. Loose hand path to contact with an naturally lifted plane through extension. Swung with intent to lift and flashed some strength with pop when on time and squared. Also pitched utilizing a simple rock step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays tall with slightly coil over back leg at balance. Deep arm stab at take back and released from a high three-quarters slot. Fastball created some downhill plane through the zone in the low to mid 70's, topped at 74 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with loose spin and good depth when maintaining arm speed through extension. Flashed good feel for breaking ball with willingness to pitch backwards when needed. Excellent student as well.
