2024 High School All State Select Championship (2027-2028 Grads)
Matthew Davis Jr is a 2027 OF/1B/LHP with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Murphy, NC who attends Union County. Medium athletic frame with long limbs allowing for continued growth and strength. Ran 7.16 60-yard dash. Primarily an outfielder utilizing good footwork and quality first-step reads. Stays on top of the ball at release topping 70mph velocity with accuracy to the base. Hits Left Handed with extra wide slightly closed base. Minimal lower-half movement and level path leads to pullside, low line drive approach. As strength increases lead to more bat extension more consistent gaps will be driven. As a pitcher, utilized the stretch exclusively. LHP with high leg lift and short arm path and arm side movement. Good feel for strike zone as Fastball topping 71 and Changeup topping 62 both induced contact. Also a great student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
