JP Synnott is a 2024 C/RHP, 1B, 3B with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Rancho Santa Margarita, CA who attends Capistrano Vly Christian. Medium, athletic frame with some strength to build and additional room to grow. Ran a 7.88 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, shows consistent actions behind the plate and will continue to refine, gains some ground with lower half and gets feet underneath well, higher arm slot on throws down to second base and shows accuracy with carry. Also pitched, lower leg lift at start with some tilt at top of balance point, longer arm action working to an over-the-top release point. High front side down the mound, fastball topped out at 79 mph with occasional cut from working across body. 12-6 shape to curveball with some depth, kept hitters off balance. Switch-hitter, begins with a tall stance and a high hand set at the plate from the leg side, utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger and swings with intent, shows carry to all fields when squared with some lift to swing path. Similar short and simple swing from right side as well, shifts well and incorporates lower half, works the middle of field nicely.
