Eric Shinjo is a 2018 RHP/ with a 6-3 230 lb. frame from Bellevue, WA who attends Newport Senior. Large frame with broad shoulders and present strength. Primary right handed pitcher with a simple side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather with slight coil over back leg. Swing front side slightly while working to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Deep arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters arm slot. Generated good downward plane through the zone with a fastball that had some run to arm side in the low 80's, topped at 82 miles per hour. Showed solid feel and consistently spotted to the outside edge of the plate to both right and left handers. Curveball had 12/6 shape with looser spin and solid depth when maintaining arm speed throughout extension. Showed good composure while on the mound with a knowledge for pitching. Good student as well.
