Lathan Van Ausdall is a 2023 SS/OF with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Allen, TX who attends Allen. Young, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Twitch to profile, ran a 6.81 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front and shows softness to hands, quick transfer and release on throws across the diamond, works on top of throws, arm strength and carry will continue to develop moving forward, shows accuracy to the bag. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow in the box; simple and compact swing through the zone and utilizes a high leg lift trigger moving into contact. Creates some whip to the barrel and shows a handle for the barrel, consistently works to pull side with extension out front, nice tools in the box and projects.
