Tyler Moniz-Witten is a 2020 C/RHP, 3B with a 6-3 155 lb. frame from San Mateo, CA who attends Burlingame. Tall frame with long limbs and a lean build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary catcher with a taller, narrow stance while receiving the baseball. Gains ground while working out of crouched with smooth paced, loose actions. Lower glove circle and worked through transfer with clean exchanges. Released from a compact three-quarters slot producing accurate carry to the bag at 75 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.18. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and high back elbow set. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose path with a naturally lifted barrel plane through extension. Showed fluidity to swing with feel for the barrel primarily working to the middle of the field. Flashed some jump off the barrel when squared that created good carry. Raw power will continue to develop with physical maturity. Also pitched utilizing a simple side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side creating slight coil over back side at gather. Clean arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters slot. Fastball showed solid downhill angle through the zone with slight run to arm side in the mid 70's to low 80's, topped at 81 miles per hour. Slider had 9/4 shape with tight spin and compact tilt to glove side. Looked to fill the zone and flashed some feel for the edges when repeating arm action and slot. Good student as well.
