Jackson Hamilton is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Santa Barbara, CA who attends Santa Barbara HS. Long and lean athletic build, lots of physical projection remaining. Long and loose arm action with good extension out front, high 3/4's arm slot, gets downhill well and works to the bottom of the zone, misses low when he misses, low effort mechanics. Upper 70's fastball, occasional running and sinking action, works low and keeps it out of the middle of the plate. Throws both a curveball and slider and both are quality pitches. Curveball is very consistent with good spin and nice 11/5 depth, can throw it any point in the count. Slider gives him a different breaking ball look with proper spin and shape. Fills up the zone and has an idea how to pitch. Fields his position well and shows athleticism. 7.30 runner, showed nice arm strength from the outfield that could translate to the mound soon, arm works really well out there. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a good shift into contact, tends to get on his heals a bit but handles the barrel well. Should continue to add velocity as he gets stronger. Good student.
