Brady Chavez is a 2020 RHP/1B, OF with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Santa Cruz, CA who attends Santa Cruz. Medium, athletic frame with narrow shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.38 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, side step moving into delivery, gets tall on back side with a leg lift up past belt, short and quick arm stroke through the back working to an over-the-top release point. Short stride down the mound, fastball topped out at 83 mph, mostly true in life with occasional cut action; filled the zone well. Mixed well and can pitch backwards, changeup shows nice fading life with a tunneled release up to 75 mph, maintains arm speed on curveball, shows 11-5 shape with short depth and nice hand speed. Short and quick steps to the ball in the outfield, repeats actions well and works over front side well, shows quickness to arm, fields the ball closer to body, accuracy to intended base. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; shifts weight into contact well. Creates extension out front on swing and shows a handle for the barrel. Repeats mechanics well in the box, generates some separation with lift out front, shows nice hand speed.
