Michael Alcantara is a 2022 C/ with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Bronx, NY who attends St. Raymond HS For Boys. Medium frame with a lean build. Frame projects for additional strength. Primary catcher with a slightly taller, side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains some ground while working out of crouch and utilized a clean glove circle. Released from a compact three-quarters arm slot generating some accurate carry to the bag at 68 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.03. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Loose hand path to baseball with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Displayed developing feel for the barrel while employing a mid field to pull side approach. Flashed occasional jump off the barrel to the gap when on time and squared.
