Adam Veres is a 2006 RHP from Dwyer HS in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, with a big, strong 6'3", 215 lb. frame. He has a balanced, controlled delivery with a clean arm stroke and a standard 3/4's release point. Veres throws with little effort and looks like he could throw all day. Veres had the best velocity we've seen him have thus far, hitting 90 mph consistently with a heavy fastball. His out pitch is a nasty 73 mph curveball that has a very sharp, hard, late downer break. When Veres is staying on top of this pitch it's one of the best curveballs in the country for this level. Veres doesn't overthrow his curveball but he shows very good confidence and control of it and you can tell he likes striking hitters out with it. Veres' change up is also a quality pitch at 74 mph. Veres was a top prospect when he was throwing 86-88 mph and if he throws 90 and even harder with consistency, he becomes a pro level prospect. It is also worth mentioning that Veres is a very good hitter who shows plus, plus raw power at the plate.
