Evan Bologa is a 2019 C with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Simsbury, CT who attends Simsbury High School. Medium, broad shouldered frame with a strong, mature build and present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 5.46 40-yard dash. Primary catcher, higher set behind the plate during drills, gains some ground with lower half coming out, receives out front, tall at release and can continue to incorporate additional lower half, shorter arm actions on throws down to second base. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set pull back and a high back elbow at the plate with an even stance. Utilizes a simple shift through lower half to transfer weight, full swing path through the zone with a linear plane. Handles the barrel and found it consistently out front, quickness to hands with rising line drive contact to the middle of field when squared. Uses physical strength well. Very good student.
