Matthew Tabet is a 2023 SS/RHP with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Wilton, CT who attends St. Joseph. Medium, physical build with plenty of present strength throughout his frame. 7.20-second runner during the sixty. Primary infielder, fields out in front as he plays through the ball well with deliberate footwork. Plus-arm as he was up to 88 mph across the diamond. Flashed some range going to his left and right. Projects to move to a corner infield position as he continues to fill out. Secondary right-handed pitcher, full wind up with a side rocker-step into a belt-high leg lift before using his long legs to drive down the mound. Comes from a high 3/4 slot as he creates some downhill action on his heater. Worked 78-81 mph, topping out at 82 mph, with more velocity left in the take. Worked at a quick, deliberate pace on the mound, repeating him mechanics well. Showcased intriguing secondary offerings that project to the next level as he continues to refine feel for curveball and change-up. Was able to land his curveball in various counts throughout his outing as it displayed 11-5 depth. Change-up should some fading action, getting a couple swing-and-misses from it. Right-handed hitter, sets up with a wide, even stance, and a high back elbow. Uses a knee-to-knee load to incorporate his lower half. Line-drive swing plane displaying middle-of-the-field impact with flashes of some pop in his bat. Found consistent barrels throughout his round of BP showcasing some feel for the barrel. Generates plenty of bat speed. Excellent student. Named to Western Pennsylvania Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
