John Roath is a 2023 RHP/3B, MIF, OF with a 6-1 188 lb. frame from Decatur, GA who attends Lakeside. Ran a 7.48 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary right-handed pitcher with good size and strength to current build. Pitches from full windup mechanics off the left side of the rubber. Clean, short, and quick arm-circle in back to a high three-quarter release and extension out front. Flexibility and athleticism present in operation helping him work over his front side and fill the lower half of the zone, working in a direct line to the plate. Fastball at 81-mph with ride out of the hand. Curveball at 67-mph with 11/5 shape and depth into the zone. Slider at 74-mph with tilt. Ability to fill the zone with all three pitches as he delivers with confidence and tempo. Secondary outfielder who fielded with a one-handed gather off his glove side, working through repetitions while creating a clean line to his target. Good arm action with speed to release produced throws at 79-mph with carry to bases. Right-handed hitter with square stance and high handed setup. Rhythm and timing in his hands with aggressive stroke that stays short through the hitting zone leading to line-drive gap-to-gap contact. Bat speed leads to hard-hit contact with extension out front.
