Donovan Friloux is a 2023 RHP/C, UT with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Luling, LA who attends Hahnville. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.45 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, deliberate tempo to mechanics with a leg lift just up past belt and a hip turn at top; short and on line stride down the mound with late acceleration moving into release. Occasionally gets mistimed with tempo, worked to a three-quarters release point and shows a quick arm through the back, fastball comes out cleanly and topped out at 78 mph. Short sink down in the zone and filled the zone, ball comes out of hand cleanly. Tight rotation on curveball and developed a feel throughout outing up to 65 mph. Long stride coming out of crouch from behind the plate, receives out front with two hands, young actions, accurate throws to the bag. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Upper body dominant swing, shows quickness to hands with a linear path through the zone, loads hand back at start, long swing path through the zone. Best carry to pull side when balanced, gets to front side early at times. Very good student.
