Caynen Patterson is a 2025 C/SS with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Troy, MO who attends De Smet Jesuit. Works from a medium, high-waisted frame with both strength and athleticism present. Primary catcher, starts in a wider one-knee stance and gains sufficient ground while striding inline during the gather. Accelerates into a shorter arm path behind the ear. Has tons of arm speed with life on the throws; kept them around the bag. Recorded arm strength up to 78 mph with a pop time of 1.89 sec. Secondary shortstop, works through the baseball with proper footwork and technique. Stays light on the feet and covers plenty of ground. Clean funnel with softness in the hands. Able to adjust arm slots and deliver accurate throws across the diamond. Recorded arm strength up to 89 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts in a narrow stance with a low back elbow and loose, low hand set-up. Utilizes a short hand load and simple leg lift trigger for timing. Works into a quick, leveraged stroke with present strength and speed in the hands. Produced consistent contact to all parts of the field and showcased intriguing power potential. Recorded an exit velocity of 85 mph. Ran a 6.95 sixty-yard dash. Excellent student. Named to the 2024 National Indoor (Saturday-Wentzville) Top Prospect List.
