Jaxton Schroeder is a 2025 1B/LHP, OF with a 6-5 200 lb. frame from Iowa City, IA who attends City High. A taller and lean frame. Slender build with room to continue filling out moving forward. Ran a 7.51 60-yard dash. Took to the mound as a left-handed pitcher working from the wind-up. He side-steps into a leg lift up above the belt around the chest. The hands move in unison up higher, and then he breaks to make his move down the mound. He throws from a three-quarters arm slot with some looseness to his arm circle. The fastball worked up to 81 mph and had some life to it. He showed a curveball in the mix as well, with 11/5 shape to it. He had a heavy fastball attack, throwing strikes and inducing quick outs. Also mixed in a couple of changeups. Quick inning of work on the mound with 2 punchouts, keeping the opposition scoreless. A left-handed hitter with a wider and even base. He has higher-set hands and a higher back elbow. He takes an aggressive stride forward with some whip to the hands, and he does a good job to drive the ball in the air to the middle of the field. He produced some good impacts with the ability to lift the ball naturally. Strength showed with a couple of real hard-hit balls back up the middle. He had good extension and some whip to the hands as he worked through contact. Produced an 85 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Added a hit in-game as well. Also worked out as a first baseman with a longer arm action and good whip as he threw across the diamond. He fields with a two-handed smother up the middle with a lower slot on his feeds to second. He made firm throws and had a clean funnel working into it. Threw 80 mph across the diamond. Showed some athleticism and put together a clean round. Great student.
