Sebastian Monsivais is a 2022 RHP/1B with a 5-9 187 lb. frame from Guadalupe, NL who attends Tecnologico de Monterrey. Medium frame with broad shoulders and beginnings of strength. Primary right handed pitcher with a side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays flexed on back side at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Tends to land at a slightly closed position on front side creating some crossfire at release. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball generated natural cutting action to arm side in the upper 70's to low 80's, topped at 82 mph. Curveball had 11/5 shape with looser spin and solid depth in the mid 60's. Consistently changed speed and showed the ability to challenge the bottom of the zone with both offerings. Also worked out defensively from firstbase showing smooth paced footwork while surrounding the baseball and working around the bag. Funnels out front and worked through exchanges quickly. Released from a three-quarters slot producing accurate, on line throws to the bag at 79 mph. Right handed hitter with a slightly crouched, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Worked to contact with rotational lower half actions. Quick, compact hand path to baseball with a simple, repeatable line drive barrel plane through extension. Flashed solid bat speed through the zone and consistently delivered barrel to contact. Looked to employ a gap to gap approach flashed good jump off the barrel when squared.
