2021 Northeast Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Michael Flax is a 2022 OF/MIF/UT with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Mullica Hill, NJ who attends Clearview. Recorded a 4.90 second forty-yard dash time. Medium, athletic frame with lean muscle throughout and room to fill out. Primary outfielder with athletic actions throughout the fielding process; well-maintained momentum into and through the baseball, fielding cleanly off his front foot with a smooth transfer to throw. Recorded arm strength up to 87 mph with accurate, online throws and carry to the bags. Secondary infielder that incorporates deliberate, reactionary footwork to field, while showing good arm strength and accuracy across the diamond. Recorded arm strength up to 84 mph. Graded out better from an outfield perspective, showing more natural feel and athleticism in that portion of the workout. Right-handed hitter that hits from an upright, even stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and leg lift trigger. Incorporates rhythmic hand load and good weight shift into contact, while staying compact with his hands to deliver the barrel with some authority. Mostly middle-of-the field approach with slightly lofted swing plane, quick hands and good barrel accuracy. Repeatable swing with ability to impact the baseball and developing gap-to-gap power. Will continue to improve and expand upon solid present skill set as physically matures and makes minor adjustments mechanically. Excellent Student. Named to the 2021 Northeast Indoor Top Prospect List.
