Jose Guzman is a 2021 SS/2B with a 5-11 140 lb. frame from Altadena, CA who attends John Muir HS. Recorded a 7.88 second 60-yard dash time. Medium, lean frame with plenty of room to fill out with strength. Primary shortstop who plays low to the ball with good footwork. Soft hands and has actions well. Funnels out in front and rounds the baseball nicely. Arm strength is still developing but good overall feel for the position. Righthanded hitter with a crouched, even stance. Simple leg lift trigger and a rotational lower half. Loads up on his backside nicely with a loose hand path to contact. Line drive barrel plane with a middle of the field approach. Going to develop nicely with additional strength. Good student.
