Meridian Leffew is a 2026 SS/3B with a 6-2 187 lb. frame from Belmont, NC who attends Gaston Christian. Big broad shouldered athletic build with some present strength and plenty more to come. 6.75 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense with a likely third base future as he continues to grow and get stronger, has very good raw arm strength and carry from a compact arm action, some lower half balance and athleticism moving to the ball. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a long and strong swing, repeated his timing and trigger well, has some lift in his swing with lots of carry to left center field, projects plenty of power, present bat speed and barrel whip, has shown very high barrel rates/barrel control in WWBA play in the past. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Miami.
