Nathan Cain is a 2024 2B/RHP, SS with a 5-3 105 lb. frame from Lakeland, FL who attends McKeel Academy of Technology. Compact frame with a young build. Square shoulders and room to add with maturity. Ran a 9.39 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary second baseman. Deliberate close to the ball with an out front field and short funnel in. Shows quickness to exchanges and looks to get the ball out. Accurate throws to the bag with developing arm strength across the diamond. Righthanded hitter with a narrow stance and open front side. Short stride into contact. Hands lower into load with a linear swing path. All fields contact showing feel for the barrel. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a side step over the head delivery into a leg lift to the belt. Utilizes slight drop and drive actions to the plate with a compact arm stroke in the back. Works through a three-quarter release. Works to contact keeping the ball in the lower half of the zone. Fills the zone up well with the fastball at 63 MPH. Flashes a curveball as well with vertical drop. Good student as well.
