Matthew Mitchell is a 2020 RHP/1B with a 6-3 255 lb. frame from Greer, SC who attends Greer Middle College Charter. XL frame with strong, physical build; ran 60 yard dash in 8.39 seconds. Primary righthanded pitcher, offline arm stroke through the back with hook, low three quarters slot, near sidearm at times, upper-half oriented delivery, short stride with open toe land, fastball worked 70-74 mph with good arm side life, showed slurvy breaking ball, pitched to contact. Hits from even-based stance, leg lift trigger, glides through stride, hands work through swing, has strength and the ball jumps when square, good power to the pull side. Worked out at first base, turns well post-fielding, keeps arm stroke compact with quick release, clocked up to 65 mph on throws with solid accuracy. Very good student.
