Niko West is a 2027 1B/RHP, 3B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Warren, NJ who attends Gill St Bernard's. Medium, broad shouldered frame with present strength proportioned throughout, additional room to fill. Ran an 8.02 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, attacks the ball well and fields out front with some bend at waist, moves well off the bag with balance in turns, shows accuracy on throws across the diamond. Also pitched, works exclusively out of the stretch and pushes off the first base side of the rubber, hands stay close to midsection prior to breaking into a shorter arm stroke through the back, getting to a three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 77 mph, shows natural cutting action and repeats delivery well with quickness to arm. Landed curveball for strikes with bigger shape up to 62 mph, maintained velocity on fastball well. Right-handed hitter, begins with a narrow and upright stance in the boxy with a lower back elbow; simple stride moving into contact and can continue to incorporate additional lower half into swing. Looseness to hands and does a nice job of implementing strength at point of contact to generate carry and backspin to the gaps. Strength in hands, nice tools to build off of moving forward.
