Sean York is a 2023 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-5 215 lb. frame from Rancho Cucamonga, CA who attends Method. Extra-large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout, additional room to fill moving forward. Ran an 8.15 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, side step into full hands-over-head delivery, high leg lift up past belt and gathers on backside over rubber, shorter stride down the mound with a longer arm action working up to a high three-quarters release. Fastball comes out of hand cleanly, topped out at 79 mph with heavy life down in the zone; creates some plane and repeats delivery well, weak contact off the barrel when put in play. Tends to get under curveball at release, short 11-5 shape when on top up to 66 mph. Similar loose and easy release at first base, shows balance to actions, simple gather behind the ball, fields out front with some bend at waist. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow away from body; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing. Incorporates physical strength well and shows impact at point of contact. Upper body dominant swing, strong hands, shows carry off the barrel to either gap and projects for more juice with further incorporation of his lower half. Excellent student. Named to the 14u Southwest Top Prospect List.
