Edgar Nakamura is a 2023 LHP/1B with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Mercer Island, WA who attends Mercer Island. He has a tall-thin frame and ran a 7.46 in the 60 yard dash. Primarily a left handed pitcher, he has an over the head delivery, high leg kick, and works with good tempo. Compact arm leads into a high three-quarter arm slot with good direction and extension. Fastball hit 75 mph and has solid sink to it. Throws his breaking ball from a similar slot as his fastball, and slider shape and bite are good. Great command on the mound, shows ability to pitch to both sides of the plate, shows potential. At first, he shows athleticism off the bag, and fields the ball out in front. Arm is clean and crisp in his throws as he maintains solid balance through release. At the plate, he has an open stance, low hands, and a mid-leg kick. Swing path is flat and linear.
