Matthew Baldwin is a 2022 RHP/IF with a 5-5 125 lb. frame from Cypress, TX who attends St. Pius X. Slender young smaller build. Slow paced delivery with a deep arm takeaway in back, gets out front well in his release and repeats his mechanics well. Fastball topped out at 70 mph, did a nice job of throwing strikes with his fastball and working side to side, gets some cutting action at times to get away from barrels. Tends to slow his arm on his curveball with soft spin and rolling shape. Competed well. Should continue to improve with additional strength and physical maturity. Good student.
