Hugo Garay is a 2025 C/RHP, 3B, UT with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from San Jose, CA who attends Milpitas. Features a sturdy, athletic frame. Started off the Showcase running a 7.94 Sixty Yard Dash. Primary backstop with a side straddle set up. Does a nice job replacing the feet and creating momentum. Short AA with present arm speed and accurate to the bag. Secondary Pitcher with a mix that includes fastball and curveball. Has a stretch only operation with a belt high leg lift into a downhill delivery, creating extension and landing in line with the plate. Fastball has run to the arm side, coupled with a sharp breaking ball that has 11-5 shape with late action. At the plate, Garay has a medium base with a slightly open stance and low back elbow. Takes a short stride to contact, staying on a level path with solid barrel control and an up the middle approach. Good student.
