Tyler Butina is a 2023 1B/RHP with a 6-2 215 lb. frame from Jefferson, WI who attends Jefferson. Recorded a 7.48 in the 60-yard dash. The primary first baseman funnels the ball deep with a loose exchange out of a three-quarter arm slot alongside a good, quick turn while accurately throwing the ball to the bases at 82 mph. The left-handed hitter steps into the box with a slightly open, upright stance and a short leg lift trigger. Butina has good hip rotation using his lower half to generate good power through the swing with a clean path to the ball. He has quick hands and good bat speed working the ball gap-to-gap approach. Secondary right-handed pitcher moves with a full windup, a short sidestep, and coiling leg lift to the belt showing good extension on release with an over-the-top arm slot. He generates good downhill plane on his fastball that has late sinking action topping 82 mph. Mixing in a tight breaking ball with good downward action out of the same arm slot as his fastball. Excellent student. Named to the North Indoor Top Prospect list.
