Michael Massa is a 2025 C/OF with a 5-8 159 lb. frame from Dix Hills, NY who attends Half Hollow Hills West. Medium, athletic build with well-proportioned strength present throughout. Primary catcher, sets up in a squared stance and gets out of the set with urgency. Displayed plenty of quickness in the hands. Made efficient transfers and separated into a shorter arm path. Kept the throws around the bag. Recorded arm strength up to 69 mph from behind the dish with a pop time of 2.01 sec. Secondary outfielder, attacks the baseball with urgency and works through it sound footwork. Demonstrated fluid actions while creating useful momentum from the lower-half. Pulls down hard into release. Has a natural feel for the position. Kept the throws low and online while recording arm strength up to 83 mph from the outfield. Switch-hitter. From the left-side, starts in an even stance with a high back elbow and compact hand set-up. Utilizes a negative toe-tap trigger for timing before working into an on-plane stroke. Created consistent line drive impact to the pull-side and middle of the field. Showcased the ability to create carry and backspin. From the right-side, starts in a slightly open stance with a similar hand set-up. Utilizes a negative toe-tap trigger with a deeper hand load. Creates extension through the strike zone while maintaining posture over the ball. Has consistent barrel skills from both boxes. Recorded an exit velocity of 77 mph. Ran a 3.89 thirty-yard dash. Great student.
