Zachary Skupp is a 2023 1B/RHP, 3B with a 6-3 210 lb. frame from Oceanside, NY who attends Oceanside. Large, broad shouldered frame with present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran an 8.22 60-yard dash. Stays back on the ball in the infield, sound and proper footwork on approach and through the ball, works into a longer arm action throws across and repeats slot with some present arm strength. Also pitched, full windup on the mound and works to a three-quarters release point; does a nice job of pounding the strike zone, fastball topped out at 76 mph, mostly true in life and pitched to contact. Mixed in a big 12-6 curveball which depth, shows feel for landing the pitch, up to 65 mph with it. Right-handed hitter, begins with an open stance and a lower hand set at the plate, utilizes a toe tap trigger for timing in the box. Longer swing path through the zone, best when working on a linear plane to the point of contact, can shorten moving forward but shows the ability to impact the baseball to the opposite field. Good student.
