2024 St. Louis Uncommitted Prospect Showcase
Andrew Oldham is a 2027 C/3B with a 6-4 205 lb. frame from Chesterfield, MO who attends Marquette. A bigger frame with a medium build and some sneaky strength throughout. Room to keep filling out and adding in strength moving forward. Ran a 7.21 60-yard dash. A primary catcher who worked from a right-knee-down setup. He gains some ground working through it with a shorter and compact arm action. He had a longer transfer away from the body but quick throws down to the second with good accuracy in the air. He was able to get throws to the bag in the air around the tag zone. There's some arm strength that projects throwing 73 mph down with a 2.22 pop time. He is a right-handed hitter who has an upright and narrow stance with open feet, higher-set hands, and a higher back elbow. He has a bigger leg lift and gathers, working into the swing with some drift forward to drive the ball well. He showed barrel accuracy and the ability to whip the hands through contact and work up the middle. He stays on the inside path and is able to show some looseness and whip to the barrel. He was able to do some damage out in front with leverage to the pull-side gap. He had a shorter and slightly uphill stroke. The ball jumps off the barrel when it syncs up. He hit the ball well in-game, too, with some hard contact and hits to show for it. Good student. Named to 2024 St. Louis Uncommitted TP List.
