2021 Great Lakes Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Ty'rek Spikes is a 2022 OF/MIF with a 5-6 155 lb. frame from Cincinnati, OH who attends Winton Woods. Short and compact athletic build with some present strength. Quick twitch athlete with a nice first step and 6.72 speed in the sixty. Primary outfielder, is very balanced and smooth through the ball on defense, very quick release on his throws, compact arm action, makes soft accurate throws. Also played the infield, has the same plus feet in the infield but his arm action doesn't work as well here. Right handed hitter, upper body only swing with a big shoulder turn to start his swing, one piece swing with no lower half involvement at all, has the twitch and strength to hit but will need adjustments to do so at the next level to develop flow and lower half use. Good student.
