TJ Bender is a 2026 C/3B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Chesterfield, MO who attends Lafayette. Works from a medium compact frame with plenty of physical projection remaining. Primary catcher, starts in a wider squared stance. Displayed some quickness getting out of the crouch, gaining limited ground on the transfer. Broke into a shorter arm path before releasing the ball from an over-the-top slot. Kept the throws around the bag. Recorded arm strength up to 70 mph with a pop time of 2.02 sec. Secondary third baseman, stayed fairly light on the feet and took quick routes to the baseball. Worked uphill a bit on his transfers and into a shorter arm stroke. Delivered accurate throws across the diamond with arm strength up to 75 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts in a narrow base with a low hand set-up. Utilizes a simple leg lift trigger for timing before working into a flat bat path. Creates some jump off the barrel when timed up. Produced consistent contact to the middle of the field during his batting practice round. Recorded an exit velocity of 82 mph. Ran a 7.38 sixty-yard dash. Great student.
