Chris Volstad is a tall, slim, extremely projectable 6'7/195 RHP from Palm Beach Gardens, FL. He absolutely stood out with a very fluid, clean arm action and solid delivery. He topped out at 92 mph with excellent off speed pitches and excellent command of the strike zone. At Tropicana Field he had to be considered one of the very top pitching prospects in the 2005 class. His FB showed outstanding life, breaking a lot of bats. Good sharp breaking ball in the mid 70s, and the changeup is a MLB pitch. It's scary to think he can get so much bigger and stronger. Chris is an outstanding student and is a sure bet to be recruited hard by all the top national schools. Of course there is the issue of next years draft and Volstad is on all the lists, as well he should be. Chris was selected to the AFLAC All American Team.
