Nate Chown is a 2022 1B/RHP with a 6-4 180 lb. frame from Virginia Beach, VA who attends Ocean Lakes. Large frame with long, lean build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.43 seconds. Hits from even-based stance with high back elbow, hands start locked back into bar, rotational in upper half, hits off of backside, steep entry path to the zone, covers the plate well, showed some contact skills. Worked out at first base, turns well, feet work both around the bag and off of it, consistent accuracy on throws, clocked up to 71 mph. Also pitched, drop and drive downhill, compact stroke, fastball worked 72-75 mph with some cutting life to the glove side, flashed a changeup as well. Very good student.
